Thadiyandamol

 

Thadiyandamol is the highest peak in coorg, measuring 1,748mts. It is around 30Kms from Virajpet.

It is totally 8Km one side. Vehicles can go till first 4Km.It is one of the best trekking place in coorg. This was my third trek with the same group after Kumaraparvatha and Dudhsagar.

We were totally 20 members in our group. We had made our own vehicle from Bangalore. We left Bangalore by 11pm and reached madikeri by 5am,We were waiting for the petrol bunk to open so we were in madikeri till 8am,then we reached thadiyandamol by 9am.We prepared our breakfast near some small water source at the starting point and started to trek by 10:30,we used some private space which is used for homestay it was a small issue and got late to start the trek.

Finally all the problems got solved in a good way and started the trek. It was First PUC result on the same day our trek mate (My brother) got his result he had lost his hope that he will be failed in Mathematics but he got First class and passed in all the subjects :P so were waiting for his result and spent another half n hour near the first view point itself.

After that started to trek again it was so hot that we used to take break for every 20mins.Road goes smaller and smaller first 7-8 ppl can walk together then only one can walk. Because of Elephants they had made fencings around. Then we took lunch break near water source and prepared Avalakki (Beaten Rice ) to eat.

We reached the water source by 11:30am and started to chit chat on all the topics like movies(Ulidavaru Kandante,Ugramm,Ragini MMS 2(Sunny) ) :P Elections, Last trekking's, Education etc..... then at 12:30 we had our lunch then again some were sleeping some were listening songs some were talking don't know why we wasted so much of time there finally at 1:30pm we decided to trek to the peak and we started to trek.......

By 2 pm we reached Big rock and we were almost near to the peak we noticed the forest fire by 2:30pm it was so hot and the fire was so high the reddish fire on the peak god the view was so horrible our dream was burning in that fire :( everyone was so excited we were waiting for that moment to stay in the peak but everything got burnt in the fire even we were burning inside we were helpless, had hope to do it again and started to trek back to the starting point.

 Some of them were really disappointed, Some were like ok we can do it again, Some were like god we are alive ( especially me )......Took  permission to pitch our tents near the water source where in the morning we prepared breakfast and had an issue, they gave the permission to use the space around homestay. And all the tents and camp fire was set.

The place was so beautiful after the dark night rises(d) moon (sometime our torches ) was only the source of light. After some time so many fireflies was around us..... it was a wonderful view we used to catch them play with them, they used to appear together and disappear together seriously it was a vision treat, specially we girls enjoyed it a lot. Stars were like they are very near to us cant imagine all the things around us was awesome and it was like we are in heaven :) :) :)  

After some time 3 members were awake and we all went to sleep they used to look around if any wild animals may come. And by around 3am they saw wild cats and fox around the tents and they ran inside the forest.

Next day morning after fresh up packed everything and left.

On the way visited Nalknad palace one of the beautiful palace situated near thadiyandamol, Bhagamandala temple which is known for triveni sangama and Bhagandeshwara temple,Talakaveri..... we got back the same view and enjoyment which we missed in the thadiyandamol peak at Talakaveri view point. 

Happy for that.....We reached Bangalore on the next day it was Ugadi that day whished everyone on the begging of the new year and back to home with new hopes.....
